Double Whammy!!
So
here I sit 9 months after retiring from the Army and I find myself in a
whole new world than what I grow up in as a military brat and 23+ years
of my own military career. I found myself wanting and needing something
new, so I jumped into the real estate industry in an area and a market I
knew every little about. I also found out that you must learn to swim
very quickly in an industry that moves even faster. Luckily I join a
good firm that is all about giving new and veteran Realtors the help,
training and advice needed to be successful.
So
what is the Double whammy? Well in my case, I am new to the area, and
to the industry. Though, that doesn't seem to keep me from working with
clients and getting out there. A challenge for sure, and I don't run
from a challenge. Since I started a little over 3 months ago, I have 2
properties that are heading in the right direction to close and working
with other clients to help them find their home. It has been a change
that is also a learning experience and the best part is I get to meet
new people every day.
So little about me.
As
I said I am retired from the military with 23+ years. I enjoy getting
out and about in the area that I live and enjoy the outdoors. So Spokane
has been a perfect fit with all the lakes, trails and events that that
go on in the area. My family and I have loved our time here so far. I
enjoy it as much as possible, when I am not working. Funny thing, I
think I have worked harder since I got out of the Army than I did when I
was in. Anyways, in the Army I was an aircraft electrician and worked
on the UH-60 Blackhawk, CH-47 Chinook, OH-58D Kiowa, UH-1 Iroquois, and
AH-1 Cobra. I enjoyed my time in the Army. I completed my career as a
production control supervisor for the unit I was assigned to. I have
seen a lot of cool places and some, well I won’t recommend to my worst
enemy. I have made a lot of good friends in my career and a few that
call the Spokane area home. I can see why they would do.
So
the purpose of this is just for fun for me and an opportunity for me to
talk and maybe get people to listen. I will post my thoughts on open
houses I hold and visit. The firm I work with do brokers walk thru were
the brokers tour the listings of other brokers also in the firm and give
their opinion on curb appeal, interior and exterior presentation and
whether it is price at or above market value. So I’ll blog about those
and just life as a Realtor from my point of view.
If you made it thru the reading of this first blog post Thanks, and be on the lookout for there will be more to come.
