Open House - 5904 S Helena St

Day 3 of Open Houses and I am at 5904 S Helena St, Spokane. A Mortiz Kundig designed contemporary rancher on just over 1 acre, located on the South Hill area this home has a humble look to its exterior, but is far from it once you walk thru the front door. The numbers on the data sheet and the pictures do this home no justice in expressing how large and spacious it is. As you walk towards the front door you have the 2 car garage and an extension of the home on either side of you. The garage is attached by a covered short walkway. The entry way upon entering the front door is titled, open and inviting with the stairs to the basement on the right.

It has a long hallway to the left that flows to the powder room, then the master bedroom, with walk-in closet, master bathroom, and its own private deck.
Master Bedroom
As you continue down the hall you pass the laundry area before you reach the 2nd of 3 bedrooms on the main floor, which these 2 bedrooms can easily have queen size beds and still have room for a dresser and other bedroom furniture. At the end of the hall are the 3rd bedroom and a full bathroom. Down the left side of the hallway are 3 closets along the exterior wall. Once back at the entry way it opens to the living room and formal dining room that are separated by a floor to ceiling wood burning fireplace.

The living room has 3 floor to ceiling windows that let in natural light and takes advantage of the views.
Kitchen
The kitchen is spacious with some updated appliances and small island. There is another space for a dining area off the kitchen and an area that could serve as a sitting area with the sliding glass door to the deck that runs the length of the main level of the home. The daylight walkout basement is huge in its own right. Once at the bottom of the stairs you have a room that is set-up as a workshop area.  Turn left to go down the hall you have the 1st bedroom of the 2 in the basement. It has a built-in desk area and a sliding glass door to the back. Continue down the hall and you come to the largest bedroom in the home. The bedroom also has its own access to the backyard. The home has space and LOTS of potential to make it your own. The home sits back on the 1.09 acre lot to take advantage of the views to the west and the evening sun.

Here we are in the 2 nd month of 2018 and I must say one of my FAVORITE months. January was a whirlwind of a month. It was here, I blinked and it was gone.
